Last Updated: 30 September 2026

Welcome to Dsciplr.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Dsciplr website, mobile applications, discipleship platform, content, community features and related services (collectively, the "Service").

Dsciplr is operated by Josh Reading, an individual based in Australia. Dsciplr is currently operated as a product and service of Josh Reading and is not presently operated through a separately incorporated company.

Dsciplr is a Christian discipleship platform designed to help people follow Jesus, engage Scripture, develop spiritual rhythms, participate in Christian community and live out their faith.

By creating an account, accessing or using Dsciplr, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use the Service.

ALL IN — DISCIPLES DEVOTED TO HIS KINGDOM

Features may change, be added, suspended or removed as Dsciplr develops.

2.Christian Purpose

Dsciplr is a Christian discipleship platform.

The Service may contain biblical teaching, devotional material, Scripture, prayer prompts, discipleship exercises and other Christian resources. These resources are provided to encourage users in their relationship with Jesus Christ and participation in His Church.

Dsciplr is not a church, pastor, counsellor, medical provider, psychologist, lawyer or emergency service.

The Service is not intended to replace:

  • •pastoral or spiritual oversight from a local church
  • •professional medical or mental-health care
  • •professional legal or financial advice
  • •emergency services

If you are experiencing an emergency or believe that you or another person is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency service or qualified professional in your location.

3.Local Church and Christian Leadership

Dsciplr is designed to support discipleship within and alongside the local church.

Dsciplr does not replace the pastoral, spiritual, safeguarding or other responsibilities of a local church, ministry leader or Christian organisation.

Where Dsciplr provides features allowing leaders to communicate with, encourage, provide feedback to or otherwise engage with users, those relationships remain relationships between the relevant users and leaders or organisations.

Dsciplr provides the technological platform and does not itself become the pastor, spiritual director, counsellor or ministry leader of any user.

4.Eligibility

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and must have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.

If you are below the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, you may use Dsciplr only where permitted by applicable law and with the involvement or consent of a parent or legal guardian where required.

Dsciplr may impose additional age or eligibility requirements for particular features.

5.Your Account

Some Dsciplr features require an account.

You are responsible for:

  • •providing accurate and current information
  • •maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • •keeping your password and authentication information confidential
  • •notifying us if you believe your account has been compromised
  • •activity occurring through your account, except where caused by circumstances outside your reasonable control

You must not knowingly provide false information or impersonate another person.

Dsciplr may use third-party authentication services, including Google or other supported authentication providers. Your use of those authentication services may also be subject to their respective terms and policies.

6.Your Content

Dsciplr allows you to create, store and, depending on the feature and your settings, share content such as:

  • •journal entries
  • •prayer notes
  • •prayer requests
  • •Scripture notes
  • •reflections
  • •comments
  • •posts
  • •profile information
  • •discipleship responses
  • •group contributions
  • •other material ("User Content")

You retain ownership of the intellectual property rights in User Content that you create, subject to the rights you grant below and any rights held by third parties.

By submitting User Content to Dsciplr, you grant Dsciplr a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, process, display and transmit that content only as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure and improve the Service and to provide the specific functionality you have chosen to use.

For example, if you intentionally share a prayer request with a Circle, Dsciplr needs permission to display that prayer request to the relevant members of that Circle.

Dsciplr does not acquire ownership of your personal journals, prayers, reflections or other User Content merely because you store them on the platform.

Private Content

Where a feature is described as private, Dsciplr will treat that content as private except where disclosure is:

  • •necessary to provide the Service
  • •authorised by you
  • •required to comply with applicable law or lawful legal process
  • •necessary to protect the security or integrity of Dsciplr
  • •necessary to protect the rights, safety or security of Dsciplr, its users or others

The handling of personal information is further governed by our Privacy Policy.

7.Community and Shared Content

Dsciplr includes community-oriented features designed to encourage discipleship and Christian fellowship.

When you intentionally post or share content within a Circle, Cluster, group or other community feature, that content may be visible to the people who have access to that community.

You should exercise care before sharing information about yourself or another person.

Do not post another person's private, confidential or sensitive information without appropriate permission.

Dsciplr cannot guarantee that another user will respect the privacy of content you intentionally share with them.

8.Respectful Use

Dsciplr is intended to be a place where people can pursue Jesus together.

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • •harass, threaten, intimidate or abuse another person
  • •engage in targeted harassment or hateful conduct
  • •impersonate another person
  • •publish deliberately deceptive or fraudulent material
  • •distribute malware or malicious code
  • •attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts or systems
  • •interfere with the operation or security of the Service
  • •scrape, harvest or systematically collect information about other users without permission
  • •use the Service for unlawful purposes
  • •exploit or endanger children
  • •distribute pornography or sexually exploitative material
  • •promote violence against individuals or groups
  • •otherwise use the Service in a manner that materially harms the Dsciplr community or its operation

Dsciplr may remove content or restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect users, the community, the Service or comply with applicable law.

9.Christian Community and Doctrinal Diversity

Dsciplr is intended to serve the broader Christian community.

Users may hold different denominational, theological and ecclesial convictions. Participation in Dsciplr does not require agreement with every theological position expressed by another user or community.

Users should engage theological disagreement with humility, charity and respect.

Dsciplr reserves the right to establish community standards concerning conduct even where disagreement concerns legitimate theological differences.

Nothing in these Terms requires Dsciplr to endorse or adopt every theological position expressed by a user.

10.Bible and Third-Party Content

Dsciplr may provide access to Scripture translations, quotations, teaching resources, links and other content owned or licensed by third parties.

Such material remains subject to the intellectual property rights and licence terms of its respective owners.

You may not reproduce, redistribute or commercially exploit copyrighted material provided through Dsciplr except as permitted by applicable law or the relevant licence.

11.Dsciplr Intellectual Property

The Dsciplr Service, including its software, design, branding, logos, graphics, original written material, discipleship frameworks and other original content, is owned by or licensed to Dsciplr and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Subject to these Terms, Dsciplr grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to access and use the Service for its intended purpose.

You may not:

  • •copy or reproduce the Dsciplr platform
  • •reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code except where permitted by law
  • •modify or create derivative works of the Service
  • •sell, sublicense or commercially exploit access to the Service
  • •use Dsciplr branding without permission
  • •use automated means to access the Service in a way that places unreasonable demands on our systems

12.Subscriptions and Payments

Certain Dsciplr features may require a paid subscription.

Dsciplr uses Stripe to process payments and subscriptions.

When you purchase a paid Dsciplr subscription, payment information is processed by Stripe in accordance with Stripe's applicable terms and policies.

Dsciplr does not receive or store your full payment-card number. Payment-card information is handled by Stripe.

Subscription prices, billing frequency, trial periods and the features included in a subscription will be displayed before you complete a purchase.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • •subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled
  • •applicable taxes may be added where required
  • •you authorise the applicable payment provider to charge your selected payment method
  • •subscription prices may change in the future, with notice where required by applicable law
  • •cancellation generally prevents future renewal but does not automatically provide a refund for a partially used billing period unless required by law or expressly stated at purchase

If Dsciplr offers a free trial, the applicable trial terms will be presented when you begin the trial.

If a subscription is purchased through a third-party platform such as Apple App Store or Google Play, additional payment and cancellation terms of that platform may apply.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, statutory right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified under applicable Australian law.

13.Cancellation and Refunds

You may stop using Dsciplr at any time.

Where your account includes a paid subscription, you may cancel your subscription using the cancellation method made available by Dsciplr or, where applicable, the third-party platform through which you purchased the subscription.

Cancellation will generally prevent the next renewal while allowing access to paid features until the end of the current paid period.

Refunds are provided in accordance with applicable Australian law and any additional refund terms presented to you when purchasing the relevant subscription.

Nothing in these Terms limits any refund or other remedy that you may have under applicable consumer law.

14.Account Suspension and Termination

Dsciplr may suspend or terminate an account where reasonably necessary because of:

  • •serious or repeated violations of these Terms
  • •unlawful activity
  • •attempts to compromise the Service
  • •fraud or abuse
  • •non-payment
  • •circumstances requiring us to protect users, the Service or our legal rights

Where appropriate, Dsciplr may provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue before termination.

You may stop using the Service at any time.

15.Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your Dsciplr account, subject to applicable legal and operational requirements.

Deleting your account may result in the permanent deletion of associated User Content.

Some information may need to be retained where required by law, necessary to establish or defend legal claims, or otherwise permitted by applicable law.

Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled following account deletion.

16.Availability and Changes to the Service

We work to keep Dsciplr available and reliable, but we do not guarantee that the Service will always be uninterrupted, error-free or available.

Dsciplr may occasionally be unavailable because of:

  • •third-party infrastructure
  • •internet or telecommunications failures
  • •circumstances beyond our reasonable control

We may modify, suspend or discontinue features of the Service as Dsciplr develops.

Where reasonably possible, we will seek to provide appropriate notice of material changes.

17.No Guarantee of Spiritual Outcomes

Dsciplr is designed to support discipleship, but spiritual growth cannot be guaranteed by an application or digital programme.

Dsciplr does not promise that using the Service will produce a particular spiritual, relational, emotional or life outcome.

The Service is intended as a tool to support a life of following Jesus, Scripture, prayer, community and mission.

18.Third-Party Services

Dsciplr may rely upon third-party services for functions such as:

  • •authentication
  • •payment processing
  • •hosting
  • •databases
  • •notifications
  • •analytics
  • •email
  • •app distribution
  • •other technical infrastructure

Those third parties may have their own terms and privacy policies.

Dsciplr is not responsible for the independent acts or omissions of third-party services outside our reasonable control.

19.Privacy

Your privacy matters to us.

Your use of Dsciplr is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used, where it may be processed, how it is protected and the rights available to you.

Because Dsciplr can involve personal reflections, prayer requests and information concerning religious or spiritual beliefs, we take the protection of this information seriously.

Our Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms.

20.Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect the Service and information processed through it.

However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

You acknowledge that electronic communication and storage involve risks that cannot be completely eliminated.

You should avoid placing highly sensitive information into a feature unless you understand who may have access to that information.

21.Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Dsciplr provides the Service on an "as available" and "as is" basis.

We do not guarantee that:

  • •the Service will meet every particular requirement
  • •the Service will always be available
  • •content will always be complete or error-free

  • •the Service will be free from all defects or security vulnerabilities

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any consumer guarantee, statutory right or other legal protection that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

22.Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Dsciplr and its operator, Josh Reading, will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Where liability can lawfully be limited, the limitations applicable under Australian law will apply only to the extent permitted by law.

23.Indemnity

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to be responsible for losses, claims and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of another person's rights.

This section does not apply to the extent that the relevant loss was caused by conduct for which Josh Reading or Dsciplr is legally responsible.

24.Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as Dsciplr develops or as legal or regulatory requirements change.

When we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as displaying a notice within the Service or updating the "Last Updated" date.

Your continued use of Dsciplr after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

If you do not agree with a material change, you may stop using the Service and, where applicable, cancel your subscription.

25.Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia.

Subject to any mandatory rights or protections available to you under applicable law, disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Dsciplr will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.

Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer-protection rights or other rights that cannot legally be excluded under the laws applicable to you.
